Another great example of Wilmington Central Rotary impacting our community!

Rotarians Peggy O’Leary, Renee Jones, and Jeremy Tomlinson handed out cupcakes to veterans at the VA Clinic today in honor of the 229th birthday of the US Coast Guard.

July 30th The Wilmington Central Rotary volunteered at Nourish NC!

We packed 100 boxes of food for kids in the community, so they won’t be hungry over the summer break. For many kids, when school is out, they go hungry, so Nourish NC tries to bridge the gap and keep them fed during school breaks.

Wilmington Central Rotary helps spruce up Bellevue Cemetery

On January 19 Rotarians raked the grounds at the Bellevue Cemetery.

Nourish NC

On December 18 the Wilmington Central Rotary joined by the Wilmington fire department filled 300 backpacks with food for children in need.

Wilmington Central Rotary rings bells for the Salvation Army

On December 1 the Wilmington Central Rotary rang the Salvation Army bell in front of The Sam’s Store and filled the kettle with donations.

On October 12 the Wilmington Central Rotary will help at the Harrelson Center.

Rotarians will be unpacking and sorting supplies for local hurricane relief.

A yearlong project for the Wilmington Central Rotary is working with the Adopt-A-Cop program.

Rotarians have adopted a Carolina Beach Police officer.

In September The Wilmington Central Rotary will be donating business clothes to the Step Up Wilmington.

In September The Wilmington Central Rotary will be donating slightly used business clothes for the StepUp Wilmington. StepUp Wilmington empowers people who are getting back into the workforce by making sure they are presentable for the job. They offer business clothes, shoes and accessories to job seekers so they show up not only ready to work but looking like the part also. On September 18th Central Rotarians will be bringing donations to their regularly scheduled meeting.

On August 18th The Wilmington Central Rotary worked with Communities in Schools to Stuff the Bus.
Rotarians were out in force at Office Depot on Oleander to help Stuff the Bus. Community in Schools reports that the entire project was able to generate over $100,000 in school supplies to be distributed to counselors at all of the area schools to be given to kids who need them.

July the Wilmington Central Rotary moves it forward

During the month of July each Central Rotarian will be doing something good for someone in the community. It will be a good deed and benefit someone, it cannot be for a friend or acquaintance. 100% of the Wilmington Central Rotary have agreed to participate.

Much needed splash pad delivery

In late June the Wilmington Central Rotary delivered a splash pad and adaptive bicycle to Diego, one of our 2018 Miracles of Rotary recipients. Diego has a condition that makes it difficult to tolerate the hot temps outside in the summer. This splash pads will help him stay cool and comfortable while playing outside in his yard.

The Miracle League

Also in late June our Rotarians volunteered at baseball practice with the Miracle League. The Miracle League provides an accessible baseball league for children and adults living with disabilities.

Wilmington Central Rotary celebrates the US Army’s birthday

On July 14 the Wilmington Central Rotary wished a happy birthday to the U.S. Army by going to the Wilmington VA Medical Center and passing out cake to all of the veterans. Thank you all for your service!
